Born in Tenerife (Spain), Guillermo González he is considered a great specialist of the Spanish Music, and one of the most important Spanish pianists. His long career has earned him several critical prise -in which remarks his deep knowledge and versatility of interpretation of piano works of all ages- , and important awards and honors:

Disciple of José Cubiles, Vlado Perlemuter y Jean Paul Sevilla, developed his musical studies at the Conservatory of Santa. Cruz de Tenerife, and later in Madrid: Royal Conservatory of Music, and Paris: Schola Cantorum and Conservatoire Superieur de Musique, obtaining from very young severals awards in international piano competitions: Milan, Vercelli (Viotti), Jaén, Tenerife, etc..
In 1998 he published a new version of, the score of, Iberia –urtext and critical editions- (Schott. Music), this latter edition is considered the definitive source for the performance of this work, used in the class by important world , artists such as, Maestro, Daniel Baremboim.
Guillermo González has performed as soloist with orchestras such as: Strasbourg Philharmonic, Dresden Orchestra, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, Classic Chamber Orchestra of New York, Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra, Scottish Chamber Orchestra, National Orchestra of Spain, Madrid Symphony Orchestra, Spanish Radio Orchestra, Radio Symphony Orchestra Bratislava ... in Spain, Italy, Netherlands, Germany, Australia, Austria, France, China, Russia, United States of America, Czech Republic, Romania, Slovakia, Brussels, Switzerland and throughout Latin America, in such prestigious halls as the Amsterdam Concertgebouw, Bayerischer Rundfunk, Santa Cecilia in Rome, Palais de la Musique Estrasburgo, Bratislava Philharmonic, Auditorio Nacional de Madrid, Teatro de la Maestranza in Seville, Teatro Real in Madrid ... In 2008 as the only pianist to represent Spain and the Hispanic world in the great concert in the new National Theatre of China for cultural events of the Beijing Olympics Games, performing with pianists as Lang Lang and Philippe Entremont, for 5.500 people.
Since 2005, Guillermo Gonzalez leads an ambitious project with the Shanghai Conservatory and the China Central Conservatory to teach and spread the Spanish Music in this country, where he also published his edition of version (Shanghai Music Publishing House).
Among his severals recordings include those made for Radio France, Radio WGMS of Washington, Caracas Radio and Television, Georgia Television (Russia), or the European Broadcasting Union (for which he recorded live version by Isaac Albéniz, bradcast for Europe and Canada), and the albums by Scriabin, E. Hallfter, Falla, A. Oliver, García Abril, Zulema de la Cruz, Carlos Cruz de Castro, José Luis Turina, o Tobaldo Power. And especially the complete works by Albéniz on four albums for the Naxos International label, which version was rated as excellent, Disc 5***** in BBC Music Magazine, in wich Jeremy Siepmann wrote:

He has been, Professor of the Royal Conservatory of Music in Madrid, Extraordinary and Honorary Professor of the Conservatory of Santa. Cruz de Tenerife, Professor of the Conservatory of Malaga and Director of the Conservatory of Music in Segovia, and was invited to be part of the jury in several international competitions, and has given masterclasses in conservatories and musical institutions as: Summer Courses at the Universidad Complutense of Madrid, Manuel de Falla Courses from International Music Festival of Granada, Kean University (New Jersey), Central University of Caracas, Bill Kent University in Turkey, Faculty of Music at the University of Melbourne (Australia), Shanghai Conservatory, China's Central Conservatory (Beijing)…, and jury in "The China International Piano Competition" (Xiamen), the most important piano competition in this country, which is first and only Spanish musician invited. During 17 years he has been president of the International Piano Competition of Jaen, being awarded the Gold Medal for his work.
Guillermo González is a member of the Royal Academies of Fine Arts in Tenerife, Granada and Cadiz. In 2007 the University of Granada, in academic event, honors him for his decisive contribution to the creation and further development of the Chamber Orchestra of this university.
Guillermo Gonzalez has been recognized with several honors in his homeland: Gold Medal of the Tenerife Island, Favorite Son of La Laguna, Adopted Son and Medal of the town of Garachico (Tenerife) and Honorary Member of the Canary Home of Madrid.
