ALBÉNIZ SONGS WITH MARIA JOSE MONTIEL

The mezzo-soprano Maria Jose Montiel and the pianist Guillermo González together to perform the songs for voice and piano by Albéniz in concert tour and CD recording. The collection of songs for voice and piano by Isaac Albéniz (considered the true founder of modern Spanish music) covers various creative periods of the composer, from the influence of Italian bel canto, and the rhymes by Becquer, written in his youth, until the last Four Songs of 1909, year of his death, dedicated to his friend Gabriel Fauré, and they share with their reference work (version) a lush harmonic language developed, contrapuntal and rhythmic. Albéniz worked on the composition of both works at once from a distance of exile, with the anguish of suffering physical illness and gave him foreseeing the end of his days. His music combines the influence of laperfección elements of Spanish folk music with a harmonic language developed, resulting in "Spanish music with universal accent", and shown in these small musical gems, attractive, bright and imaginative.
